So where did you get all these ideas from Gant?

Assignment 2 in our AI Demystified course asks people to take 5 minutes and apply what they just learned. Currently, it has over 4k people who have enrolled. I’ve really enjoyed the feedback and ideas, and I figured you might, too! Without any further ado — Let’s see what people came up with!

A child in a car detector - for car manufacturers

Cars are currently detecting when a driver is looking away from the road. I assume they’ll use this to modify their automated alarms/breaking/steering at some point. But with those cameras, they could also detect dogs and children left when the car is off. What a fantastic idea!

A robot that not only maps the room but works with the people and their ages in the room

Sharp object detector

Maybe a sharp object detector is perfect for childproofing via your phone? Or maybe securing your events or place of business from liability? Helping people deal with landfills? Cool concept! We can generate 3D models form a 2D image, so detecting sharp objects is possible!

Agriculture drones

Using drones for agriculture is an already booming business! You’re just a few years too late to invent it, but not too late to improve it!

AI Fashion from your own closet!

Safe to say, I could really use this, too.

Detecting a healthy heart

I believe Apple watch does something like this!

Helping recycling

Helping to recycle is more important than ever! The machines/humans currently have lots of trouble creating a clean recyclable result! Robots, however, can do this with amazing speed. Also, people are training robots to go around an identify trash.

I have to say, this is such a cool idea. You could call the project Karma!

Per-room Security

My Aunt had something stolen at a party. She was always afraid and locked everything after that. Every house camera should have a safe-list!
