React Native is exploding across the iOS and Android mobile app development world. Startups and larger companies alike are building React Native apps and reporting an excellent experience. Developers are releasing new open source components for React Native and the excitement is growing.

So isn’t it time we had a US-based React Native-focused conference?

Infinite Red is excited to announce Chain React — The React Native Conference!

Chain React will be a two-day, single track conference hosted in Portland, Oregon in summer 2017.

Location: The Armory, Portland, Oregon
Dates: July 10–11, 2017
Duration: 2 days
Tickets http://bit.ly/2k0bdPm
Call For Papers: CLOSED
Website: https://infinite.red/ChainReactConf (sign up for updates!)
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ChainReactConf
Twitter: https://twitter.com/ChainReactConf
Github: https://github.com/ChainReactConf
Slack: https://chainreactconf.herokuapp.com

We at Infinite Red have been working with Facebook’s React Developer Relations team to put together a great conference. We’ll be announcing specific dates and the venue soon, so stay tuned and go sign up for email updates on the website. Our call for papers will likely occur in two or three months, so take some time to think about what you’d like to submit a talk about. We are interested in beginner topics as well as intermediate and advanced topics.

Tickets include food and drink, t-shirts, swag, after-hours events, and lots of great React Native talk — both in the regular conference talks and just hanging out with other React Native developers from around the world.

Portland, Oregon

If you want to come early or stay late, Portland is a great location. You have to experience Portland’s summers to see just what everyone raves about. Warm cloudless days, low humidity, lots of outdoor activities, and plenty of great food and craft beers.

Portland is also consistently rated among the top tech areas in the USA. It’s small enough that everything is focused in a walkable area but has all the conveniences of a large city.

Speakers — here are some of the speakers (to be updated regularly)

Leland Richardson, Sakunthala, Héctor Ramos, Ken Wheeler, Mike Grabowski, Nader Dabit, Brent Vatne, and Parashuram

What’s Next?

Please go sign up on our announcements list (NOTE: iOS users may need to open in Safari since some are reporting issues with Facebook or Medium in-app browsers…we’ve notified Mailchimp and they’re working on it), follow this Medium publication, and follow the Chain React Twitter feed and Facebook page. We’ll announce the finalized venue and dates shortly on these channels. Early bird tickets, CFPs, initial speakers and more will follow shortly thereafter.

Also, help spread the word! The more interest we can get, the better the conference will be. We really appreciate tweets, Facebook posts, and just telling your friends and colleagues about the conference. Use the hashtag #chainreact2017 to get connected to the community.

For company sponsorships, group purchasing, and media inquiries, please email us at conf@infinite.red to discuss.

See you soon!

If you’re in Europe or able to travel there, check out React Native EU hosted by our friends at callstack. It’ll be held in Wroclaw, Poland, in Q3 2017. Some of us at Infinite Red are planning to be there too!
